Women’s Resource Center Representative Speaks to Rotary

Diane Diaz described the variety of services provided by the Women’s resource Center In Radford. The Women’s Resource Center is the oldest in Virginia and is a model for others across the state. Services are available to women, men and children.  Services include 24-hour crisis hotline, crisis intervention, emergency advocacy, emergency shelter, counseling, support groups, transitional housing, and children’s services. Each Rotarian was presented with a teal and purple ribbon to wear during October to raise awareness that there is no place for sexual or domestic violence in homes, workplaces, or schools. She explained that volunteer opportunities are available and there is need for household items for the center. The website is www.wrcnrv.org.
